“Change is the only constant in life” a Buddhist way of living

Change, the only constant in Life

Change, the only constant in Life

Sometimes not giving up what we do not need prevents us from getting what we want. Things wait to come to us when we make room for it. E.g. imagine or visualize, picture or pretend you are walking down a main street in the downtown area of where you live. You have a friend visiting and the two of you are just enjoying your stroll as you show off your favorite haunts. A tastefully decorated furniture store catches your fancy and you step in. You see an entire room designed just like the one you have always dreamt of. You also have money on your credit card. Even if you can pay for it, can you still buy the perfect room and take it home? NO! You have no space in your home for it. First you need to go home and empty the room of all its contents before you can bring home the new room you just bought.

Similarly in life we read 100s of books and go attend 10s of seminars and sign up for online trainings don’t we? And your life has not changed one bit in over a year or even 4 years or even 9years, except the children who grew up and the friends who left town. And there is only one explanation. You have not given up what you had to get what you wanted.

Clear your home, clean your room and this time bring in only what you know you need and will use. To create you need patience, perseverance, a little support, a little push, complete forgiveness and unconditional love.

Change will happen even if you do nothing. The only way to be prosperous is by creating conscious change.
